The support of Christians for a deceased believer’s family has drawn his children to Christ. When Jer Sua came to faith in Christ in 2023 at the age of 64, he was already sick, and he died on May 23, 2025. Though it is customary in Lao culture for villagers to collect money to help the deceased’s family, the village chief refused not only the collection but also denied him a burial plot in the cemetery. Because Jer Sua’s illness had depleted his family’s resources, they could not even prepare food for the funeral. However, Christians in the village came alongside the family, giving them rice and money. Jer Sua’s wife was already a Christian, but his son and daughter-in-law, who had no interest in Christianity before, were so moved that they came to a pastor and said, “We saw God’s love through the Christians, and now we want to accept Jesus Christ!” Pray for this family to stay strong in Christ as they continue to face intimidation.<\/p>\n
